Mrs. Lancaster nursing

Hi! I’m Mrs. Lancaster
and I would love to tell you
everything I’ve learned
about breastfeeding a baby
.

    Benefits for your Child

  • Breast milk has everything good a young baby needs to grow strong and healthy.
  • My baby is protected from many sicknesses and diseases, which makes me feel good. Such as diarrhea, allergies, asthma, SIDS, and diabetes, among others.
  • My baby’s brain is developing stronger which helps him become smarter.
  • Breast milk has the right amount of nutrients for my baby. He is less likely to become overweight or obese.

    Benefits for Mom

  • I’ve become closer to my child; we’ve bonded daily through nursing. I really love knowing he is getting the best possible nourishment.
  • More and more people are encouraging me to nurse my child. Isn’t that great!
  • Shhh. Don’t tell anyone, but I was helped to return to my normal body size through breastfeeding. Helps burn those calories! Right on.
  • I’m less likely to get post-delivery depression, which affects a lot of us women.
  • I’m less likely to get certain cancers such as breast,
uterus, and ovarian, which occur less often in mothers who breastfeed.

    Money

  • I love to pinch pennies. I never buy expensive formula,
especially when I have to throw a quarter of it away.
  • Formula gets to be so expensive day after day. Breastfeeding is easy and saves me money!
  • Breastfeeding means less expensive trips to the doctor.

    Social & Economic Benefits

  • The overall effect for the country helps reduce health care costs. I’m all for that!
  • The less my child gets sick, the less time I am away from work or taking care of my daily duties.
    Life’s hard enough!
